Setup a Small Emergency Fund
The world has a tendency to knock you while you are down. It is guaranteed that an unexpected expense will arise and try and knock you off of your plan. Prepare yourself for the eventual medical bill, appliance issue, or car trouble by setting up a small 'rainy day' fund. Set aside $1,500 if you live in a big city or $1,000 if you live in rural America.

Debt Paydown
Debt Paydown
Make a list of all of your debt accounts, their balance, and their interest percentage. Once you have your list created, order your list largest to smallest based on the interest percentage (with the largest interest being #1). The goal is to continue to pay the minimum payments on all of your accounts, and throw everything that is left towards #1 on your list. Once you pay down #1 on your list, continue to pay as much as you can afford on #2 and so on.
